Hi,

My wife called EE to order a pay as you go SIM that went well.

She then recieved a phone call back from EE to say that she had failed a credit check. He thought that she wanted a SIM only plan (contract)

She is now worried that a credit check was carried and she was unaware that EE was carrying this out.

Can anyone please give me some reassuring advice as she is worried that might affect her PTD. I am sure it is fine, but any advice is very welcome!

Ta

Hi BMC,

Whilst in a Trust Deed you are allowed to take out credit and phone contracts is a common one. Other common ones include people refinancing cars. Other providers of services may conduct credit checks as part of their anti-money laundering processes, even when you are not entering a credit agreement - for example a Sky subscription.

A credit check by EE should not pose a problem

Thanks,
DBHA21

Hi DBHA21,

Thank you very much for replying to my query. We contacted our Trustee this afternoon and they also confirmed that it is OK and not to worry about it.

Thanks again

Definitely not an issue BMC.

As already mentioned by DBHA21, a trust deed places no general restrictions on the use of credit and credit searches are quite common for lots of different reasons.
